Mobile apps

Apps for people working away from a desk, where the network is unreliable and the device is not the newest one on the market.

Why this comes up

A mobile app built on the assumption of a good connection fails at exactly the moment it matters: a rider at a gate, an agent in a client's office, a vendor at a stall mid-sale.

The usual result is a spreadsheet filled in afterwards from memory, which is the thing the app was supposed to replace.

WHAT THE WORK IS

Offline as the default

  • Local storage as the source of truth, not a cache layered on top
  • Every action completes on the device and queues its sync separately
  • Conflicts resolved on a rule you have agreed, not on whichever device syncs last

Built for the real device

  • Tested on low-end Android, not only on a simulator
  • Modest bundle size and battery cost, because the phone is also the user's personal phone
  • React Native and Expo, so iOS and Android come from one codebase

What you get

  • An app that keeps working with the network off
  • A sync engine that can be inspected when someone disputes what it did
  • Store submission handled, or an internal distribution build if it is staff-only

Right when

Your users are in the field and the data matters.

Wrong when

A mobile-friendly web page would do. We will tell you if it would.

The rest of what we do

IT STARTS WITH THE AUDIT.

Free, and it ends with an honest read on whether you need us. That is the only commitment to make right now.
